Reviews

"Lai Wan is part detective, part mystic and all fun. A good read."
Matt McLean, The Comics Review

"Lai Wan hits the spot."

Occasional Superheroine

"Henderson defies convention with his characters. It's not 'Ghost Whisperer' or cutesy girl detective.
It's meaty. It's real...In many ways, Lai Wan is very reminiscent of those initial 'Hellblazer' issues.

Joe Hillard, Pop Thought

"Lai Wan is nicely developed, yet shrouded in mystery."

Excerpt

The grinning ape stopped for a moment, as if willing to comply with the desparate command. Then, throwing open its great simian maw, it hurled forth a shrill laughter, tearing at the woman's mind and spirit. The sound struck her like razored spit, cutting and humiliating at the same time, leaving her bleeding and shaking and shiveringly terrified.

"I can't do that, princess," the gorilla-like form told her. "That would be something like...what would you call it, showing you respect? What can I say, bitch, except believe me, I didn't come here for anything like that." As the bent creature advanced on her, dragging itself forward on its knuckles, the woman wondered;
"Here? Just where in Hell is here..."

For the first time, the collected stories of Lai Wan.
These are the stories that inspired the hit comic book of the same name from Moonstone Books.
